Faith Formation
The Mission of the Faith Formation Program at St. Joseph Church is to foster spiritual growth and development in all children of the parish, regardless of special needs or circumstances. The goal of the program is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where learning through prayer, worship, community, and service to others will be done in the Roman Catholic tradition.
Faith Formation Schedule for the September 2025-2026: will be posted as soon as it is created!
Children meet on Sundays; grades 1-6 at the High Bridge Elementary School & grades 7-9 on Church grounds.
Class Dates:
We will be celebrating Catechetical Sunday on September 14. The 11 am Mass will be a mandatory, Children's Mass followed by our Parish Picnic on the grounds of St. Joseph Church. On this Sunday, we focus on the importance of catechesis, which is the teaching of the faith and our catechists, who give of their time to teach the children of our parish.
Faith Formation, formerly known as CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) is the name given to the process of religious and spiritual education of children attending public school. The purpose is to assist parents in their role as the primary religious educators in guiding their children to God. Great reliance is put upon the home to nurture the seeds of faith instilled in class in living out what is taught. This is not an easy mandate, but if ever parents are called to be attentive to the spiritual needs of their children it is now in this age when the very need for God is almost negated. Faith Formation promotes and encourages in a special way weekly participation at Sunday Mass.
If you are new to the Parish and need to sign your child/children up for Faith Formation class, contact, Mrs. Shari Schultz, our Parish Catechetical Leader at: stjoesff@gmail.com
Many thanks to all of the Catechetical Teachers who give of their time teaching the children. Also, many thanks to our PCL, Mrs. Shari Schultz who puts her heart and soul into this program.
