1 Confession
Confessions will be heard every Saturday from 3:30pm to 4pm. Remember the Vigil Mass begins at 4pm. 4 pm Vigil Mass
Saturday Evening Vigil Mass at 4 pmAt the same time, there is also an ancient tradition (going back even to Judaism) of keeping the Vigil. A Vigil is an observance of a Holy Day on the evening before (sometimes into the night). Even the word “Vigil” comes from Latin for “watchful” or “keeping awake.” The reason that a Mass on Saturday evening satisfies the Sunday obligation is that the Saturday evening Mass is a Vigil Mass for Sunday–you’re anticipating the celebration of Sunday on the evening before!Join Father Kris as he celebrates the Sacrifice of the Mass at 4 pm. | ||||||

8 am Mass with Distribution of Ashes in the Church12 noon: Distribution of Ashes in the Church6 pm: Distribution of Ashes in the ChurchThe first day of Lent is Ash Wednesday. On this special day of reflection, Catholics wear a marking of the cross in ash on their foreheads. The ashes symbolize our mortality – “Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Ash Wednesday begins the 40 days of Lent, a time when we remember that Jesus spent 40 days in the desert fasting and resisting temptation. As Jesus grew hungry from fasting in the desert, he was faced with the first of three temptations. Satan appeared before him and told him to turn stones into bread. But Jesus resisted, knowing that he was being tempted to do something God did not want. He knew the word of God was just as important as bread to survival. He was then brought to the top of a building in Jerusalem and told that, if he truly was the Son of God, he should jump from the building and angels would carry him to safety. Jesus once again resisted, knowing not to challenge God. On the third temptation, Jesus was brought to the top of a mountain and told that all the kingdoms he saw would be his if he knelt before Satan. But Jesus resisted again, proclaiming that it is only right to give worship to God. Just as Jesus faced temptations in the desert, we too face many temptations in our everyday lives. As we celebrate the beginning of Lent on Ash Wednesday, I encourage you to think about how you can better yourself during this important time of the year. Daily Mass in the Rectory

4 pm Vigil Mass
Saturday Mar 29, 2025 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Saturday Evening Vigil Mass at 4 pm
At the same time, there is also an ancient tradition (going back even to Judaism) of keeping the Vigil. A Vigil is an observance of a Holy Day on the evening before (sometimes into the night). Even the word “Vigil” comes from Latin for “watchful” or “keeping awake.” The reason that a Mass on Saturday evening satisfies the Sunday obligation is that the Saturday evening Mass is a Vigil Mass for Sunday–you’re anticipating the celebration of Sunday on the evening before!
Join Father Kris as he celebrates the Sacrifice of the Mass at 4 pm.
